Conversations

I’m a TED Talk addict. Well, maybe not an addict, but certainly a serious fan. Any student who has taken one of my upper level classes can attest to my love of TED Talks. I always find something worth watching and something I want to share.
Today’s find was “Celeste Headlee: 10 ways to have a better conversation.” Watching her reminded me of a link shared not too long ago by one of my strategies students — “Before Interviewing, Journalists Must Listen Deeply.” It is one part of “Refining Engagement” an 11-part series produced by the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication’s Agora Journalism Center and published by Media Shift.
Engagement, conversation, listening
- Engagement is the buzzword.
- Conversations and listening are the methods.
- Deep listening is required.
How do we inspire and practice deep listening?
